What good is your phone if the battery dies? If you use your phone hard and don't have the option to charge throughout the day, battery life is your number one priority when shopping for your next phone. Thankfully there are several great options that focus on battery life and won't give up halfway through the day.
Our pick
Samsung Galaxy S10+
Staff pick
The Galaxy S10+ bests the previous leader, the Note 9, by bumping the battery up to 4100mAh and running more efficient internal specs. The GS10+ will get you through the heaviest of days without having to worry about charging, and you won't even have to lean on power saving mode.
Plus a stylus
Samsung Galaxy Note 9
Samsung made its name with over-the-top amazing Note phones, and the Note 9 follows that form with a huge screen and 4000mAh battery. Battery life is excellent, and so is the rest of the phone. The hardware and specs are all typical Samsung, punctuated by a great screen and exclusive S Pen stylus experience.
Budget choice
OnePlus 6T
OnePlus just keeps doing it: a flagship-level phone with amazing hardware, specs and capabilities for hundreds of dollars less. You get a big screen, top-notch internals, and truly excellent battery life for considerably less money than the competition.
Simpler software
Google Pixel 3 XL
The Pixel 3 XL doesn't quite reach the same battery life as the others, but it's easily good for a full hard day. And in exchange, it has an excellent software experience directly from Google, plus really good hardware and one of the best cameras you can get today.
Best outside the U.S.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Huawei aims straight for the highest end of the market with the Mate 20 Pro, going all-out in size, specs and capabilities. This 6.39-inch monster has all of the latest specs, a great triple camera setup and a downright massive 4200mAh battery you never have to worry about.
With a keyboard
BlackBerry KEY2
The KEY2 is something a little different, being the only modern phone with a physical keyboard. It has everything you need from a phone, but missed out on the nice-to-have features and specs. In return, you get that excellent keyboard and long battery life.
The Galaxy S10+ offers fantastic battery life, and also does everything else you could want out of a massive power user-focused phone. It has friends in this space, though, namely Samsung's own Note 9 and Google's Pixel 3 XL, that offer good battery life and other features (or a lower price) you may prefer. For a dramatically lower buy-in, the OnePlus 6T has fantastic battery life, but with that lower price comes up short in a few other areas like the camera.
